Sphinx · Privacy Gateway
Wiresphere Sphinx is the privacy gateway between your organization and any large language model: personal and business-critical data is detected and pseudonymized in real time before a request leaves your instance — the response is then resolved locally again. This lets you use GPT, Claude & Co. in a GDPR-compliant way.
As soon as employees copy customer data, contracts or support tickets into an LLM, personal data leaves the company — often to third countries and without a legal basis. GDPR requires data minimization, the AI Act requires traceability. Banning AI tools is not the answer — a controlled path is.
Sphinx resolves this trade-off: full LLM performance for your teams and modules — without plaintext data ever leaving your instance. Pseudonymization within the meaning of Art. 4(5) GDPR — the mapping table stays exclusively with you.
Sphinx detects names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs, customer and contract numbers, health and salary data — context-aware, multilingual, even in free text.
Detected data is replaced with consistent placeholders ("Jane Smith" → "Person_7"). The LLM retains the full context — just without plaintext data.
The masked request goes to OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, an EU model or your own — Sphinx is provider-agnostic and works as a transparent proxy.
The response is de-masked within your instance. The mapping table exists only in the isolated Sphinx scope — ephemeral or tamper-proof, depending on policy.
This is Sphinx working in real time: sensitive data is detected and masked before the request leaves your instance — the LLM only sees placeholders, and the response is resolved locally.
Define what happens for each data class: mask, block or pass through — configurable differently by department, module or LLM provider.
Who sent which request to which model, and when — and what was masked? Export for data protection officers and AI Act documentation included.
Sphinx runs inside your Wiresphere instance — in the EU cloud or entirely in your own data center. The mapping table never leaves it.
Connected as a Wiresphere module via the Service Broker: Nova, CRM, workflows and your own modules automatically route their LLM calls through Sphinx.
Detection models for German, English, French, Polish, Italian and more — including industry-specific patterns such as case numbers or item numbers.
Add your company vocabulary via regex, dictionary or example-based training — for instance project names, internal codes or price lists that no LLM should see.
Sphinx is licensed per Wiresphere instance — regardless of which and how many LLMs you use behind it.
